Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by a lot of Americans. When she was in 9th grade she began to feel more secure after being acknowledged by her teachers as a success when she sang at the school's audition. She not only gained confidence through the audition, but she also changed the direction of her career. In 1992, she earned her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. When she turned 23 years old, she launched her journey on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23 she made her film debut in You've received mail. The biggest success of her career came with her portrayal of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's first Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to get the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by critics. The following year, she joined the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. As a well-known singer, she has also released both a song and a play. She has also spoken out in support of LGBT issues.
